Aswarby Rectory Wedding Photographer.
I have been lucky enough to shoot numerous weddings at Aswarby Rectory and every time I leave excited to come back. It is one of Lincolnshire’s most exclusive wedding venues, offering a blend of historic elegance and relaxed countryside charm. I am always inspired by the restored Georgian architecture, light filled rooms and picturesque gardens at that provide stunning backdrops.
Katie and Tom’s black tie themed wedding at Aswarby Rectory was always going to be a stylish bash. However when I saw Katie’s silk slip of a wedding dress and the sophisticated stationary designed by the groom, I knew I was in for an aesthetic treat. Wedding days like these are what I live to shoot.
My photography approach a wedding at Aswarby Rectory.
My approach to photographing weddings at Aswarby Rectory is to capture the natural atmosphere and the genuine emotions. I can do this easily as everything is on one site and I can follow the timeline to be in the right place at the right time.
At Katie and Tom’s wedding I was welcomed into bridal prep with the sound of laughter and the clinking of Champagne glasses. The bridal prep room is stunning with duel aspect windows and perfect light. Shortly after I met the guys in their room across the hallway. Later that morning I wandered downstairs to capture the groomsmen greeting the guests and putting on the button holes.
The rest of the day flows beautifully through the house and gardens. All I need to do is watch the light and be ready for portraits when it is perfect.
Michelle Wood’s Aswarby Wedding Top Tips:
Decorate the hallway stairway with flowers. The stairway at Aswarby is one of its most photographed areas so make this space sing. Adding flowers in this space makes for some beautiful photographic frames as you descend from prep, to the ceremony and walk through to your wedding breakfast.
Use a live musician to elevate your wedding vibe. One of the highlights of this Aswarby Rectory wedding has to be the acoustic music, which was playing all day long thanks to Alex Johnson. It really added to the feeling of occasion by having live music all day and gave me lots of content to shoot. He started for the aisle walk at the ceremony and played at the drinks reception. Most importantly though, he played after the wedding breakfast. This perfectly bridged the gap between food and first dance and I was able to capture wonderful photos of everyone singing along and dancing in the gardens.
Spare some time between food courses to run out to the pool area for some portraits. This is the only time when the backdrop will be free of guests. It also coincides wonderfully with the sunlight hitting the back of the rectory.
