Asylum Chapel wedding photography
For those looking for inspo for their own Asylum Chapel wedding – this wedding is colourful with green and orange accents. We also didn’t stop for a second so you can really feel the energy through the collection. Mostly this wedding was about the people. Alex and Josie have surrounded themselves with love and laughter in life and so their wedding day matched their vibe. It was no wonder that there were tears as well as wild dancing.
“To be able to look back on our day at Asylum Chapel like this is so special, and to see our loved ones captured so perfectly makes our hearts ridiculously happy. I know it’s a cliche when people say the day goes so fast but it really does, and you’ve given us the gift of reliving it. It is absolutely magic to see our wedding day as we remember it, but also to see it through the lens of our guests. You’re not only a phenomenal photographer, but an incredible presence to have around on such an important day.”
What makes great photography at Asylum Chapel?
The light at Asylum Chapel isn’t for the faint hearted. You’re either going to love it or not as a photographer. For me – it’s ideal! I love the pockets of light and the vacuous ceiling, and I know exactly where i want to place my couples so i can make the best use of it. I want those crumbly blue walls to pop and I want to photograph the whole space as well as the details that make it so special.
What made this wedding so beautiful to me though was the connections between the people. There was oodles of love at this wedding. Being able to capture this at Asylum Chapel is always a pleasure as it is one of the best backdrops out there.
The Lordship wedding reception.
The reception was held at The Lordship pub in Dulwich. This is a combo I’ve shot a few times now and it just works. The streets around The Lordship are great for photos, as is the pub frontage itself. Inside the room is bathed in light and there is a garden for an added bonus. On top of all this the food at The Lordship is REALLY good.
“Thank you for meeting our energy”
Probably one of the best things that Josie could have said to me. This lady has EN-ER-GY. It’s bursting out of her like sunbeams. And so to think that she thought I could meet her, well – that’s a real compliment.
I knew this was going to be a great day way before the day. On the Zoom we just clicked and had a real laugh. Then, when I turned up and Josie ran out onto the street in her dressing gown, I knew she was going to be a fabulous bride.

“From loved ones laughing, to the drape of Josie’s wedding dress on the floor (LOVE!), to Alex’s hand with his rings – or the light hitting a glass of bubbles lifted during the speeches – we are actually obsessed with them all. We are so lucky to have had you and your brilliant talent and craft with us on our wedding day to capture it, keep it, and revisit it for all our days to come. Thank you doesn’t feel big enough, but Michelle, we are so grateful.”
