Aswarby Rectory is a beautifully restored house in Lincolnshire, in which the light just hits right and the period features are beautifully restored. It works as wonderful blank canvas in which you can add your personality for your wedding day celebrations. I’m obsessed with the restored swimming pool and the beautiful windows. However, the staircase has to be one of my favourite features at Aswarby Rectory. Coco In The Country did THE BEST job of dressing it when I was last there. My goodness – the aroma was incredible and the staircase featured in so many elements of the day.
The joy of Aswarby is that you can stay there too. The rooms upstairs are decorated just as beautifully as the space downstairs. They are perfect for getting ready in with more big windows for light, full length mirrors (Seriously! Some wedding venues don’t have them) and sexy en-suites.
The flow of your wedding is so smooth at Aswarby – you have a gorgeous room for the ceremony, the front door makes for an excellent confetti walk through and then everyone can meander round to the back lawn for drinks. This space is also a great hang out after the wedding breakfast.
The wedding breakfast is held in such a serene room, with the shuttered windows filtering the light beautifully. It’s always nice to get a few portraits in there before your guests pile in, as well as detail shots, because it’s such a pretty space. I’d be excited for an outdoor wedding breakfast though…
There are so many great spaces for your wedding portraits and group shots. I love how the light moves around the building and creates different opportunities at different times of the day. That pool though!
In the evening the wedding breakfast room is cleared out and is the perfect size for a party atmosphere. With just the right amount of space for a band and a dancefloor, you can guarantee the party will be pumping.
