September 2016, I had the honour of second shooting for a wedding photographer whom I admire very much. Mr Matt Parry. He’s got a very commendable beard and his dry and slightly leftwing sense of humour tickles me – however, the way he pulls the interesting out of the every day in his photography is what really enthrals me about this chap. Hands down – if I were to get wed again (and since I cant book myself – ha!) he would be my photographer of choice. In my very early days Matt mentored me – he taught me how to see things that others don’t, how to use light to sculpt an image, he got me on the road to editing affectively and has been there for me as a friend ever since with all my questions and insecurities. I’ve got A LOT to thank Matt for. He’s been ace and has enabled me to make a career out of wedding photography. Before my blubbering brings tears to your eyes I’ll get to the wedding.
So… when he asked me if I’d like to join him to shoot a London wedding at The Asylum, with the reception followed at Brixton East, I didn’t need to think twice. It was bloody brilliant – what a day!?! I’m so grateful for your generosity Matt – I don’t know if I can ever repay it. Here’s what I captured for him and for Smithy & Maria…
