St Dunstan in the East: a creative engagement shoot in London.
Have you come across St Dunstan in the East – it’s a bit of a hidden gem and is an ideal place for an engagement shoot or even a wedding. Tucked away behind the hustle and bustle, near Tower Bridge, it makes a great meeting point. If you get there nice and early like we did, it’s also quite quiet so you can really use all of the wonderful backdrops. The space has a really calm feeling to it and with beautiful light, it is an ideal spot for a creative engagement shoot in London.
We started the engagement shoot in St Dunstan in the East, but then decided to explore some of the local streets. Kim and Kerry are from the US and so we wanted to really connect in an English vibe to the shoot, without getting too cheesy. I love a Wes Anderson vibe too so felt this building facade and the taxis worked well as a frame for our next image.
As I mentioned earlier, we were in the Tower Bridge area, so we popped over to the Embankment to make the most of the glorious winter sunshine. Sunny winter days are so great to shoot in as the light is so low in London.
It wouldn’t be a London Engagement shoot if you didn’t throw the couple in front of a red double decker, right? So once we had weaved through the crowds at the Tower of London and found a quiet spot (Quiet? LOL – you should see the outtakes!) to shoot the skyline, we got on the bridge and waited for the perfect London Buss to drop by.
