This year I’ve shot creative weddings, relaxed & fun weddings and alternative weddings. City weddings, beach weddings & countryside weddings too.
Big weddings, small weddings and some very very intimate, teeny weddings.
I feel humbled to have met such a wonderful bunch of people and have been looked after by my wonderful clients and their families time and time again.
We’ve fought against the freezing Beast from the East and sweated our way through the hottest summer I can remember ever getting through. People have flossed and dabbed on the dance floor and drank more gin and craft beers than ever before.
A private video message from Will.i.am surprised me as much as the bride and groom and I laughed alongside the bride who forgot her bouquet only for it to be recovered by an anonymous passerby from the village. I’ve joked with my ‘GROOM-ZILLAS’ about what divas they have all been and cried a tear at every single speech when someone was sadly missing from their wedding day.
Lisbon and the Dordogne were amongst my hot spots, as well as throughout the far corners of England. I generally had the time of my life, seeing new and wonderful places. Weddings made special by those people who had vision to do their own thing and say “up yours” to traditions they didn’t want to adhere to. And who shouted out “let’s party” to all their friends and family.
Most importantly I’ve been lucky enough to document the people at weddings – because after all that’s what it’s all about. How we respond to one another, how we love each other and how we laugh with each other. But thank you 2018 for giving me beautiful weddings too!
Twenty-eighteen: I salute you. This has been a year to remember and here, I share with you, a snapshot of what I got up to.
I cannot wait to get started on 2019 – I’ve got a whole host of wonderful, alternative, beautiful and creative weddings ahead of me.
If you are getting married in 2020, and you like my natural and romantic but edgy style, please get in touch. I’m excited to hear all about your plans and ideas.
